As the UK is in and out of lockdowns we are all looking for ways to get our lives back to normal, without leaving the safety of our own home. This means that we have seen an increase in people creating bars or mini pubs in the comfort of their own gardens. So why not let us get you started!
There is an abundance of garden buildings you can have built that can be turned into the perfect little pub, nestled away at the end of your garden. Alternatively, you can have one custom-built, allowing you to get all the features that you want to make it as authentic as possible.
Having your own pub or bar built in your garden, allows you to make the adjustments to the design that makes the space as perfect for your needs as it can be. This includes just creating a simple bar with shutters, or a full-size room, with a bar built in the corner (complete with space for a fridge too).
Our favourite design to turn into a pub is a nice big summer house. Generally, these are square in shape, or often wider than they are long, however, the benefit of bespoke means that you have it built to suit the shape of your space. Summer houses usually have french style glass doors that open out into the garden, these are great for your own bar as they mean you can sit inside or outside while still enjoying the benefits of the other. If you have a larger garden, you can even have a porch built on the front for that extra sun of rain protection.
Another common conversion is turning a simple shed into a hidden den. The benefit to using the design of a shed to turn into your bar or pub is that from outside, it looks like nothing more than your average, run of the mill, garden shed. This allows you to lock it away from unsuspecting eyes, and only opening the doors to those worthy enough of being in your pub. When converting a shed, you can make as many or as few changes as you like to turn it into either a full pub, or a dual purpose shed/pub.
